The static mudoc specification panel will be introduced in Chapter II. The first four specifications will be demonstrated with variations in each specification.
      After two introductory paragraphs presented in the linear typography, a descriptive paragraph will be displayed six ways – first in the linear typography, then successively in the one-line, two-line, three-line, four-line, and five-line mu formats. In each case the spec panel will precede the display of the paragraph – with the choice highlighted in the panel. The kind of specification panel shown below will be used in this chapter.

      The second demonstration will be of a paragraph with different typefaces, as described in the script.
      The third demonstration will be of a paragraph displayed first in 8-point type, then 9, then 10, then 12, then 14, then 16, then 18, and so on until 300-point type is reached, at which point the first word in the paragraph, "When," will fill the screen.
      The fourth demonstration will show how visual cues may be used. First a paragraph without cues will be shown, then a paragraph with griddled text, then a paragraph with dividing lines, then a paragraph with cued text – as shown in the script.
      Explanatory notes that are included in the script, but are not part of the script, will be shown in ALL CAPITALS LIKE THIS.
